AWANA is a program for children ages 3 through 12th grade that incorporates Bible teaching and Scripture memorization with tons of fun.  The AWANA program offers opportunity for children to learn more about Christ in a fun and rewarding atmosphere.

The word "AWANA" is actually an acronym which stands for :
"Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed" which comes from 2 Timothy 2:15.

When is AWANA?

 
Our AWANA club will meet on Wednesday nights at 6:30pm until 8:00pm at Hope Baptist Church located at 2117 Clemson Rd, Columbia SC, 29229.  The club runs during the school year and there are breaks that regularly coincide with the Richland School District 2 school calendar.

How does it work?

AWANA is a program designed to teach children about God's love for them. We do this through 3 sessions throughout the night:

1) Council time: We start each night with a flag ceremony. The children recite the Pledge of Allegiance, the Christian Pledge, and the AWANA pledge. We sing a few songs and then break up into groups to hear our Bible lesson for the night. Cubbies-3 and 4 year olds, Sparks-K thru 2nd grade, Truth & Training- 3rd thru 5th grade, Trek-Middle School, and Journey-High School.

2) Handbook time: Your children will be challenged and encouraged to memorize verses from the Bible and to complete tasks on the road to learning more about Jesus and his love. You are encouraged to work at home with your children on their handbooks.

3) Game Time: A time of fellowship and fun where we will encourage teamwork and love for one another. Clubbers are rewarded for not only winning the competitions but for encouraging other teams and listening to the leaders.
