Chili Cook Off and Talent Show
Please join us on Saturday, September 18 at 5:00 PM for a Chili Contest in the Family Life Center.
The men of the church will prepare their best chili recipes. Rolls and desserts will be provided by the women.
After the Chili Contest, there will be a talent show in the sanctuary beginning at 7:00 PM.
If you have a talent to share, please contact Linda Beasley at 783-9258 to sign up.
Prizes will be awarded for both contests. Proceeds from both events will benefit the Back Pack Program!
Item of the Week
The Giving HOPE Ministry is asking for donations of inexpensive, commonly used items for the food pantry. The items needed for September are listed below.

The Back Pack Program
HOPE Baptist Church is sponsoring the Back Pack Program for North Springs Elementary School. Many students receive free breakfast and lunch at school everyday. For some students, the two meals that they eat at school are the only times that they eat. The goal of the backpack program is simple - to provide food to students that would otherwise go hungry over the weekend.
The church would like to sponsor at least 20 students for the 2010 - 2011 school year. We estimate that the cost for sponsoring each backpack will be $320.00 for the estimated ten months of a school year ($32.00 per month). Mrs. Gouvin has secured funding to purchase the backpacks. Should you decide that you would like to sponsor a backpack, you would simply donate to the Giving Hope Ministry. Members of the Giving Hope Team will take care of purchasing the food items (so that all backpacks contain the same thing each month), packing the backpacks, and transporting them to and from the school each week.
